About this residency
Titanik A.i.R. invites applicants working at the intersections of sound and performance arts to apply for process- and research-based residencies for up to two months during April–December 2024 in Turku. The residency provides time and space without pressure to present a final work (work-in-progress can be shared as a workshop/open studio/performance/screening/talk if the artist wishes). The programme offers a studio (20 m²) adjoining Titanik and a free accommodation in a fully equipped 25 m² studio apartment close to the city centre; residents are also welcome to use Titanik’s audiovisual equipment (availability depends on Titanik’s programme). The accommodation is not wheelchair accessible, and the residency is self-financed (artists cover travel and living/working expenses).
Application requirements
- Apply via the online application form. Provide: a motivational letter (up to 1,000 characters) describing what you want to work on and why you wish to do so in Turku
- a link to a sample of recent work (e.g. website/Vimeo)
- and a CV (max 2 pages). Applicants should also indicate if there is anything Titanik can do to make the stay more accessible
