About this residency
Three-year studio-apartment residency for early-career visual artists (residency period 2026–2028). The programme is run by the Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation in collaboration with the City of Espoo and EMMA; one artist will be selected to live and work in a subsidised studio apartment and will participate annually in public activities with EMMA (open studios, artist talks, etc.). Subsidised monthly rent for the resident is €500. Application instructions are provided on the Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation website; the published application deadline was 12 October 2025.
Application requirements
- Eligibility and full application instructions are posted on the Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation website; primary selection criterion is artistic merit. Applicants should be early-career visual artists living and working in Finland (graduated or begun professional practice within the last five years, or completing studies). See the foundation’s application page for required materials.
