About this residency
Studio17 invites applications to the Studio17 Residency (Open Call 2026). We invite two visual artists to share a 4-week residency in the Artist apartment and Studio17 exhibition space. During the residency artists are encouraged to present an exhibition, show works-in-progress, run a workshop or similar public program.
Application window: 20 October 2025 — 1 December 2025.
Residency periods for 2026 (selectable): 2026-02-09 to 2026-03-08; 2026-04-13 to 2026-05-10; 2026-08-13 to 2026-09-10; 2026-11-02 to 2026-11-29.
Selected artists receive an artist fee of NOK 15,000 each; accommodation in the Artist apartment is included. The Studio17 board selects participants; selected artists receive promotion, technical support and photo documentation from Studio17’s partners. Application requirements
- Submit one combined PDF (max 10 MB) containing: application form (use the online Application Form - Gmail users
- non-Gmail users: use the alternative form and send to info@s17.no with subject “OPENCALL26 + your last name”), project description/description of artistic practice (max 1 A4 page), CV for applicant(s) (max 1 A4 page each), documentation of works (max 5 A4 pages per artist) including title, year, technique and size
- include links to video/audio if needed (do not attach large video files). Duo applications: one combined PDF
