About this call
ARToulu art area is an ECoC 2026 public-art route across multiple neighbourhoods along the Oulujoki estuary. This international open call invites professional visual artists worldwide to propose artworks that can be situated in urban neighbourhoods, aiming to surprise and delight viewers in public spaces (“art in surprising places”). The artwork may be permanent, temporary, or ephemeral, and selection prioritises originality as well as creative integration into the surrounding environment (including elements of surprise).
Application requirements
- Submit by email in a single PDF (max size 4MB). Application should include: artwork proposal
- sketches/images illustrating the work
- artwork budget
- and the artist’s portfolio and CV. Price/budget should fit one of these ranges: < €5,000
- €5,000–€15,000
- €15,000–€30,000
