About this call
The ARToulu art area is being created in Oulu for the European Capital of Culture year 2026. Artworks are selected through an open call for professional visual artists. The emphasis is on original and surprising solutions that integrate into the urban environment; some works may include performance art, participatory community art, or sound art. The ARToulu art area ensemble will be selected by curators Satu Oksanen (visual artist/curator), Anna Ruth (curator), and Leevi Lehtinen (media artist & public art specialist).
Application requirements
- Open call for visual artists. Eligible applicants: artists from Finland and artists working in Finnish residencies in other European countries. Proposals should focus on original and surprising solutions integrated into the environment (some works may also be performance, participatory community art, or sound art).
