About this residency
RaumArs operates an international artist residency (founded 1997) housed in a 3-room apartment in Sepän talo. The programme accepts all art forms and encourages community/participatory projects; typically 5–10 visiting artists or pairs are hosted each year. Main applications are made in spring for the following year; for 2026 there was an additional application period that closed 2025-10-30 and a small number of specific months were offered (see upcoming artists). The residency application is submitted via the online application form on RaumArs' site. Fees and rules (registration fee on acceptance, security deposit, rent, receipts for material reimbursements, cancellation rules) are listed on the residency pages.
Application requirements
- Application form (online): artistic background, project short description, full work plan, CV/portfolio (preferably as 1–2 PDFs), and for community/stipend artists: a project budget. File-size limits and attachment instructions are on the form. If you apply both for a residency and an exhibition slot, state the desired exhibition month.
