About this call
Open call for professional artists, working groups, and art students to propose a temporary public artwork to be installed in Turku’s city space as part of the “Kohtaa kaupunki, kohtaa turkulainen” project and the 200th anniversary of Johan Jakob Reinberg. The artwork should draw on, comment on, or be inspired by Reinberg’s work and themes. The selected artwork can use, for example, photography, video, or light-art approaches. A fixed artist fee of 10,000 EUR is allocated for the selected artwork (including implementation and presentation work).
Application requirements
- Submit an application via the linked online form by the deadline. Include: (1) CV (max. 3 pages)
- (2) a “teos” proposal PDF (under 50 MB) containing: a text description of the concept
- a visual depiction of where/how the work would be placed in the city space (e.g., mockup/visualization)
- a description of technical requirements and an estimated cost range
- samples of previous artistic production (max. 5 images)
- and (if the proposed location is not city-owned) contact details of the party who would grant the preliminary placement permission
