About
Platform for contemporary art in Oslo with a strong focus on media and new media art. Produces a rotating programme of exhibitions, video screenings, performances and workshops; provides artists with studio facilities for audio and video editing and supports production and distribution of technology‑based art. Founded in 1965 as a printmaking workshop and later expanded to include a public gallery at Olaf Ryes plass in Grünerløkka (gallery opened in 2011). Receives funding from Arts Council Norway and the City of Oslo.
Focus: Media art and new media — temporary exhibitions, screenings, performances and workshops; artist production support (audio/video studio); emphasis on research-led and technology‑intensive projects rather than a permanent collection.
